ROCKY MOUNT - Mary Ann Ellison Adkins, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Born in Edgecombe County on September 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Perry Ellison and Peggy Turner Ellison. She was also preceded in death by her soulmate, Carroll Mayo; and her brother Russell Ellison.

Mary Ann is survived by her two daughters, Deanna Adkins House and husband, Robby, of Rocky Mount and Tina Adkins Hedgepeth and husband, Scott, of Rocky Mount; one grandchild; sister Gloria Ellison Crocker and husband, Herbert, of Nashville; brother Ronnie Ellison and wife, Connie, of Rocky Mount; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, January 7, 2022. Burial, Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
