ROCKY MOUNT - Phillis Pridgen Barnes, age 76, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Born in Nash County on October 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Luther David Pridgen and Eva Lee Hall Pridgen. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy A. Pridgen; her son, Brian "Keith" Moss; her grandson, Zachary D. Williams; and her nephew, Robert A. Pittman.

Phillis is survived by her husband of 22 years, Kim W. Barnes; her daughter, Tammy Williams (Kevin) of Rocky Mount; her step-daughter, Ginger Barnes (Cody) of Sharpsburg; 7 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sisters, Brenda K. Rooks of Rocky Mount and Sandra Drake of Spring Hope.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
