ROCKY MOUNT - Emily Stowe Gay, age 89, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021. Born in Halifax County on October 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Daniel "Pat" Riley Stowe and Ethel Daniel Stowe. She was also preceded in death by her son, Aaron Green Gay, Jr.; and her brother, William "Buddy" Frances Stowe.

Emily is survived by her husband Aaron Green Gay, Sr.; son, Kent Stowe Gay; daughter-in-law, Marcia Gay; two grandchildren; brothers, Dan Stowe (Brenda), Jerry Stowe (Dot), and Bruce Stowe (Evelyn); sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Lois Stowe Cummings and Velma Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the Mausoleum.
