ROCKY MOUNT - Winnifred "Winnie" Adcock Raper, age 78, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Born in Vance County on October 28, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Wilton Lee Adcock and Louise Poythress Adcock. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Adcock; and her sister, Dorothy "Dot" Renn.

Winnie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Stephen "Steve" Wilson Raper; her daughters, Elizabeth Owen Jones (Robert) of Fayetteville; Rayna Poythress Owen of Rocky Mount, and Cathy Raper Chaffin (Doyte) of Evans, GA; her brother, Carl Adcock (Francis) of Bristol, TN; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church, Rocky Mount. Visitation will follow service in the Sugg Foyer of the Kincheloe Building.

A Private Family Inurnment Service will take place at the Columbarium at Lakeside Baptist Church.
