WHITAKERS - Mary Ruby Tisdale, 89, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2008. She was born April 10, 1919 in Nash County. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sue Brown; one sister, Eardie Coley and two brothers, Eddie and Herman Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Cullen Tisdale of the home; one daughter, Maxine Moore of the home; two grandsons, two great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Rachel Brown; and other special family and friends.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, October 10, 2008 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road. A funeral service was held 2 pm Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Chapel of Johnson Funerals and Cremations. Burial followed at Forest Hills Cemetery.
