Dan M. Cooke, age 82, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born in Edgecombe County to Jimmie Lee and Alma Edwards Cooke on October 7, 1938. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred "Jack", Reggie and David Earl Cooke.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Cooke; children, Dan Milton Cooke, Jr. (Michele) of Virginia Beach, Va., Mark Anthony Cooke and Kimberly Douglas (Kenneth), both of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in Nashville. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
