William Clinton Evans was born to the late Reverend Oris and Lucy Harris Evans on May 6, 1928 in Hollister. He passed away on July 27, 2021.

He is preceded in death by his wife Clint Hedgepeth Evans, one son who was lost at birth, Kurfew Evans; four sisters, Adell C. Richardson, Florence Lee, Pattie H. Ortiz, and Levonia Chamblee; five brothers, Clarence Evans, Robert Louis Evans, Arvell Hedgepeth, Rudolph Evans, and Mannis H. Evans.

He is survived by his children, Doris Mcclellan, of Falmouth, ME, Ralph Evans and wife Bertha, Perry Evans, of Hollister, Julie Hedgepeth and husband Chester, of Red Oak, William Daryl Evans, Jimille Mills and husband Rev. Michael, Lisa Evans, all of Hollister, Rev. Eric Evans and wife Latonya, of Tarboro; sister Ethel Lene Silver; brother Oris Grady Evans and wife Christine; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; eight great, great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation with family and friends will be Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 7-9 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mount Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Evans Cemetery, Hollister.
