ROCKY MOUNT - Herman Louis Thornton, 60 passed away Monday, September 29, 2008.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 5 at 2:30 p.m. at William Toney’s Funeral Home Chapel in Spring Hope. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery, Nashville.

Survivors: wife, Maxine Thornton; daughter, Tanya Goodwine of St. Albans, NY; son, Herman Tran Thornton of Raleigh; sisters, Annie Mae Small of Rocky Mount, Fannie Mathis of Columbia, MD and Nancy Parkinson of Alexandria, VA; brothers, Robert Thornton of Woodbridge, VA, Perry Thornton of Roanoke Rapids, Jeff Thornton of Alexandria, VA and Steve Thornton of Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia; 2 grandchildren.
