ROCKY MOUNT - Betty Rosalie Thursby, 87, of Rocky Mount passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2008. She was born August 6, 1921 in Akron, OH to the late Ernest and Bertha Bowman. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert Francis Thursby and sister, Fern Starn.

She is survived by her sons, John Thursby and wife Peggy of Rocky Mount, Mark Thursby of Rocky Mount, Ted Thursby and wife Patty of Riverside, CA; sister, Ruth Stripe Harnish of Copley, OH; seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11:30 am Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with Father Tim Mears conducting the Mass. The interment followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family received friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday, October 3, 2008 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road.
