NASHVILLE - Jimmy Hilliard Matthews, 79, passed away May 1, 2021. He was born August 25, 1941 to the late Sam Hoyt Matthews and Ruby Gupton Matthews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Raye Matthews; grandchild Colby Winstead; brother Sammy Matthews and sister Joanne Baines.

He is survived by his sons Johnny Matthews (Angela) and Paul Matthews (Tina); daughter Wendy Matthews; two grandchildren ;four step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; sisters Patsy Griffin and Barbara Faulkner; brothers-in-law Marshall Baines and PJ Faulkner.

Visitation will be held 6-7:30pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Forest Hill Cemetery.
