ROCKY MOUNT - Bernice Perry Pridgen, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Born in Nash County on July 24, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert Floyd Perry, Sr. and Pearlie Vick Perry. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Floyd Perry, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David "Elton" Pridgen, Sr.; her children, Vickie Sledge (Matt), David E. Pridgen, Jr. (Ann), and Janet Smith (Jimmy); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren,; her sister, Dorothy Harris Williams; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery.
