BAILEY - Horace Melton Meacomes, Sr., 95, passed away Wednesday, Febraury 10, 2021. He was born on March 15, 1925. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Sarah Ann Moss Meacomes; parents, Robert M., and Carrie U. Meacomes; brother, Robert Ray Meacomes, and Doris Finch Bass.

He is survived by his sons, Robert M. Meacomes and wife, Vickie of Coral Gables, Florida, and Horace Meacomes, Jr. and wife, Bobbie of Bailey; foster children, Peggy Evans Bullock and husband, Dwight of Bailey, and David K. Evans and wife, Beth of Bailey; one granchild; two great-grandchildren; many step and foster children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Horace Meacomes Sunday School Class, Bailey United Methodist Church, PO Box 218, Bailey, North Carolina 27807.
