Romey Glen Winstead, 86, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021. He was born May 21, 1934 in Nash County to the late Ben and Polly Cone Winstead. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Bennie, Billy, Earl and Roger Winstead; sisters Eula Mae Denton, Betty Ann Glover, and Lorraine Bunn.

He is survived by his wife Shelby Jean Winstead; sons Bobby Winstead (Terry) and Mike Winstead (Louise); step-sons B.J. Whitley (Shelby), Chuck Whitley, Sammy Whitley, and Vince Whitley (Dawn) ; step-daughter Sylvia Evans (Delton); brother Doug Winstead (Mary Ellen); sister Barbara George (Jim); three grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 1:30-2:45 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Home with a memorial service to be held in the Chapel at 3 p.m. .
