ROCKY MOUNT - Glenda Langley Johnson, age 56, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021. Born in Nash County on August 11, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Ernestine Langley, and raised by Floyd Sanford. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Aaron and Mike Langley; and her sisters, Diane Langley and Celia Edmondson.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Tommy Johnson; her son, Wayne Johnson and wife, Pamela, of Rocky Mount; her step-daughters, Cathy Overton and husband Michael, of Battleboro, Kimberly Burns of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brother, Alvin Langley; her sisters-in-law, Donna Langley, Tammy Edmondson, Betty Pierce, Becky Johnson; her brothers-in-law, Melvin Edmondson, Dan Pierce, Terry Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Cathy and Michael Overton in Battleboro.
