ELM CITY - Dorothy Eason Barnes, age 86, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillian Moore Eason; sisters, Margie Crumpler and Jean Brantley; and brother, Randolph Eason.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, George W. Barnes Sr. of Elm City; son, George W. Barnes Jr. (Donna) of Rocky Mount; daughter, Connie Barnes Williams (Rich) of Raleigh; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; brother, Edward Eason of Sharpsburg; sister, Rosa Roberts of Richmond, Virginia; brother-in-law, Ray Brantley of Nashville; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Eason of Hampton, Virginia.

Services were held Sunday, January 10 at Dortches Baptist Church.
