Dorothy Cockrell Roberts, 79, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008. She was born January 2, 1929 in Nashville, NC to the late J.W. and Liller Cockrell. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty nine years, Elbert Roberts; one sister, Lettie C. Beeghly; and one brother, John Walter Cockrell. Dorothy was a Lifetime resident of Nashville. She enjoyed working for Sears for several years.

She is survived by four nieces, Carol Lumley, Nancy Zydron, Elsie Rogers, Marsha Sutherlin; one nephew, Larry Cockrell; and thirty six great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Johnson Chapel of Nashville. A funeral service wil be held 11 am Thursday, September 18, 2008 in the chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
