ROCKY MOUNT - Billy James "BJ" Hunter, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Born in Forsyth County on June 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Wesley R. Hunter and Delma Inez Campbell Hunter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Robertson Hunter; and brother, Wesley Campbell Hunter.

He is survived by his sons, Samuel "Sam" Hunter and wife, Victoria Salas Hunter, and Rev. Jim Hunter and wife, Rev. Kathryn O. Hunter; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 3 p.m. at Englewood United Methodist Church, Rocky Mount, on the lawn at the Bell Tower.
