ROCKY MOUNT - Mildred "June" Gibbons Lumley Galaites, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Born in Santa Barbara County, CA on April 27, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Layfette Gibbons and Bertha Harris Gibbons. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Royce Lumley; her son, Royce Wayne Lumley; her daughter, Rhonda June Lumley; her brothers, Joseph "Buck" Loy Gibbons, Bobby Gibbons, Midge Gibbons, and Hershal Gibbons; and her sister, Molee Gibbons.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Junior Galaites; her sons, Roy Lee Lumley and his wife, Peggy, of Elm City and Randy Harold Lumley of Rocky Mount; her daughter, Sonya Lumley Riggs and husband, Dale, of Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Carolyn Ann Gibbons of Rocky Mount.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
