ROCKY MOUNT - Donald Ray Odom, age 86, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Born in Edgecombe County on April 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Willie Clyde Odom and Anna Joyner Odom. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Odom, Clyde Odom, Clarence Odom, and Horace Odom.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lynne Moore Odom; daughters, Susan Odom Hines and husband, Mark, of Rocky Mount and Jennifer Odom Friedley of Wake Forest;five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brother, JT Odom and wife, Jean, of Marathon, FL; his sister, Thelma Odom Goff and husband, Horace, of Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Dr. John Browning and Rev. Michael McHard officiating. A visitation with the family will immediately follow the service at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 7101 Creedmoor Road, #130, Raleigh, NC 27613 (in honor of his granddaughter, Sarah) or to the Battleboro Volunteer Fire Department, 4909 Hathaway Street, Battleboro, NC 27809 (where his grandson, Chris, is a volunteer fireman).
