James A. Matthews passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Horace G. Matthews and Alice M. Matthews; his daughter, Janet Rose Matthews; and brothers, Dan Matthews and Tommy Matthews.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary John Matthews; son, Tim Matthews and wife Kim; daughter, Beth Matthews; one granddaughter; brothers, H.G. Matthews and wife Marianne, John Matthews and wife Doris, and Lindsey Matthews; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Byrd officiating. Visitation will follow.
