ROCKY MOUNT - Maggie Lee Flora Powell, 92, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008. She was born January 5, 1916 in Wilson County to the late Willie Lee Flora and Almetta Virginia Walston Flora. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl Powell of Rocky Mount.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Jewell Powell Williams of the home; granddaughter, Alice Whitehurst and husband Wayne; great grandson, Jeremy Whitehurst and wife Brooks. She also leaves behind several special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations on English Road and other times at the home of Jewell Williams. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Billy Crabtree and Rev. Billy Webb conducting the service.
