ROCKY MOUNT - Catherine "Cat/Cathy" Farmer Garris, age 87, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020. Cathy was born in Nash County on April 12, 1932. she is preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Floyd Farmer; son, Lee Dungan; brothers, "LW" and Edward Farmer.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, James "Jimmy" Garris; daughter, Mary Ann Parks and husband, Edward; bonus son, Mike Hackney and wife, Tracey; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Dungan of Billings, MT; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced and held at a later date.
