NASHVILLE - Hilda Griffin Evans, 91, passed away March 21, 2020. She was born in Nash County on April 15, 1928, and was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Pattie Winstead Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Warren Evans; sisters, Lorine Griffin, Christine Edwards, and Jane Page; and brother Roscoe Griffin.

She is survived by her daughter Carol Evans Gay; son, Tim Evans and wife, Rosemarie; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother, Tommy Griffin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Nashville Baptist Church, 512 E. Washington Street, Nashville, NC 27856, with Reverend J. Kenneth Byrd, Jr. officiating. A Private Family Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville. A visitation will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service in the Nashville Baptist Church Sanctuary and other times at the home of Tim and Rosemarie Evans.
