ROCKY MOUNT - Sara Kathleen McMakin, age 30, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020. Sara was born in Charleston County, SC on October 19, 1989. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles Edward Barnes and Barbara Floyd Barnes.

She is survived by her partner of 15 years, Shepherd Browning; and sons, Shepherd Blake Browning, Jr. and Charlie Russell Browning, all of Rocky Mount; her mother, Beckie Barnes Summerlin of Rocky Mount; sister, Meredith Cali Roberts of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Services were held Sunday, March 8, 2020 in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with family friend, Reggie Goodman officiating.
