ROCKY MOUNT - Lillie Mae Dawes, 92, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Light of Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Rocky Mount with Rev. Ronald Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Baker Cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Richardson (Fred) of Nashville, Lillie Marie Dawes Blue of Rocky Mount, Brenda Leonard (Vernon) of Durham; four sons, Melvin Dawes (Gladys) of Rocky Mount, William Luther Dawes (Betty) of Charleston, SC, James Edward Dawes (Teresa) of Middlesex, Handy Dawes (Angela) of Nashville; one sister, Elizabeth Lewis (Charlie) of Battleboro; 28 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
