ZEBULON - Homer Keith “Sam” Sloan Jr., age 59, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 12:00 noon from the White Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Harvey Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Taybron family cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Lavette Williams, of Rocky Mount; mother, Elouise Sloan, of Bunn; four sisters, Parthenia Thorpe and Sheila Asbury, both of Raleigh, Audrey Perry, of Zebulon, and Gwendolyn Paschall, of Fayetteville; five brothers, Monfred Sloan, of Wendell, Leon Sloan, of Pittsburgh, PA, Donald Sloan, of Bunn, Linwood Sloan and Jason Sloan, both of Zebulon, adopted brother, Phillip Sloan, of Zebulon; two grandchildren.

Open visitation was held on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville.
