ROCKY MOUNT - Mary Engle Griffin, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Born in Whitley County, KY on December 31, 1942, she was the daughter of the late William Russell Engle, Sr. and Ruth Snyder Engle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Griffin; brother, William Russell Engle, Sr.; and sister, Martha Jane Napier.
She is survived by Melanie Halcomb of Spring Hope and Rona Halcomb Kirby and husband, Rick, of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Rocky Mount with Father Tim Meares officiating. Burial followed the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
