SPRING HOPE -Sam Tyson, age 85, passed away Thursday morning, March 21, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Elba Taylor Tyson; brothers, Frank Tyson and William "Bill" Tyson; and sister, Mary Mathews.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Glen Tyson; daughter, Lynn Cook and her husband, Kenny of Spring Hope; two grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Tyson and Terry Tyson and his wife, Linda, all of Spring Hope, and Tim Tyson and his wife, Ann of Savannah, Ga., sister, Annie Manning of Nashville; and sister-in-law, Vada Tyson of Sharpsburg; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family friends and extended relatives.

Graveside service was held Saturday, March 23 at Oakdale Cemetery in Spring Hope. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Ephesus Baptist Church 7300 W. Old Spring Hope Rd., Spring Hope, NC 27882
