ROCKY MOUNT - Leona "Virginia" Tugwell Webb, age 99, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019. Born in Pitt County on December 14, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph Tugwell and Leona Elizabeth Smith Tugwell. Virginia was preceded by her husband William Claude Webb. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harry King Tugwell, Joe Tugwell, James Tugwell and David Tugwell; sisters, Evelyn Judy, Louise Ezzell and Frances Proctor.

She is survived by her daughter, Cobbie Griffin and her husband, Charles; her sons, Rev. Billy Webb and his wife, Alma, Bert Webb and his wife, Debbie, and Kelly Webb and his wife, Tina; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 11a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Billy Webb and Rev. Walt Cooper officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

A private family burial will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
