ROCKY MOUNT - Edward Williford, age 92, passed away on January 8, 2019. He was born on April 29, 1926, in Wilson County. He was the son of the late Johnny Leslie Williford and Gladys Pearl Tant Williford. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Davis Williford, son, Edward Wayne Williford, grandson, John Edward O'Briant and brother, James Norris Williford.

He is survived by his daughter, Wendy and husband, Michael O'Briant, of Rocky Mount; one grandhild; one great-grandchild; sisters, Lois Williford Joyner, of Elm City, Graynell Williford Harrell, of Wilson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Russ officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to the Rocky Mount Police Benevolent Fund.
