Bobbie Lee Matthews, 88, passed away January 9, 2019. He was born July 10, 1930 in Nash County to the late George Guy and Agnes Matthews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Sophie Turner Matthews and a brother Colin Matthews.

Bobbie is survived by his wife of 16 years Jean Coppedge Matthews; sons Bill Matthews (Margaret), Bob Matthews (Anna) and Rex Matthews; daughter Jewel Ballard (Joel); six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Carl Matthews and Larry Matthews(Donna); sister Nell Killette; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held 3: - 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Mt. Zion OFW Baptist Church with Rev. Heyward Watford and Rev. Jimmy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Mt. Zion OFW Baptist Church Cemetery.
