ROCKY MOUNT - Michael Leonard Joyner, age 63, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Born in Warren County, NC on June 11, 1955, he was the son of the late Robert Leonard Joyner and Mamie Louise Bradley. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Marie Joyner.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan Narron Joyner of Rocky Mount; brother, Timothy Neal Joyner and his wife, Jeannette of Uganda, Africa; his niece and nephews who he has raised after his sister's death in 1988, Michelle Holloman Briley and her husband, Christopher of Rocky Mount, James Leonard Holloman, Timothy Daniel Holloman both of Rocky Mount, and two great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Christ Covenant Church, 3124 Belmont Lake Drive, Rocky Mount with Pastor Dennis Darville officiating. A visitation with the family will be immediately following the service until 5:30 p.m. at Christ Covenant Church.

A private family burial will take place at Pineview Cemetery with his brother, Missionary Timothy Neal Joyner officiating.
