Marvin "Ray" Everette, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Born in Nash County on November 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Percy Lee Everette and Ella Bell Greene Everette. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Jordan Everette; brothers, Beal Greene Everette, Edwin Lisk Everette, Sr., Kirby Lee Everette; nephew, Robert Michael Everette; and niece, Nelda Everette.

Ray is survived by his daughters, Bettina E. Howard (Mike) and Marty E. Payne (Bob); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Barbara J. Moss; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jordan; and also Ellis D. Powell (Craig) whom he considered like a daughter.

Services were held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, Rocky Mount. Burial was private at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
