ELM CITY - William "Bill" Higson, age 73, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018. Born in Nash County on September 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Booth Higson and Mary Devane Higson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lanier Higson; and son, Chadwick Higson.

He is survived by his son, Brandon Higson (Fabian) of Elm City; and daughter, Ashley Higson of Elm City; sister, Patsy Bulluck (Mickey) of Battleboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Matt Johnson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12 - 1:30 p.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
