Randy Haywood Matthews, 63, passed away September 3, 2018. He was born in Nash County on March 10, 1955 to Betty Matthews Vaughn and the late Gilford Matthews. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by half brother Michael Matthews and step-father Pete Vaughn and maternal grandparents Randolph and Della Morgan and paternal grandparents Jesse and Iva Matthews.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Ginger Batchelor Matthews; daughters, Deanna Maynard, and Morgan German (Michael); mother, Betty Matthews Vaughn; brother, Steve Matthews; sisters, Rebecca Tisdale, Karen Matthews, Lori Stephens, Denise Hall (Roy); half-sister, Dawn Pasquerall; sister-in-laws, Phyllis Mitchell (Charles),and Donna Kehoe (Jim); brother-in-laws, Norman Batchelor (Irene), and Stephen Batchelor (Caroline); four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6 to 7:30 p.m at Cornerstone Funeral. Home.
