SHARPSBURG - Richard Elliot Heineman, age 79, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018. Born in Lake County, IL on September 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Arthur Heineman and Genevieve Anderson Heineman. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Heineman and Timothy Heineman.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Lesner Heineman; daughter, Sharon Heineman; and sons, Rick Heineman and Brian Heineman; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Rocky Mount.
