Kenneth Albert King, age 85, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018. Born in Wake County on June 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Orell and Edith King. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles O. King; and his infant daughter, Lisa Diane King.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Ward King; two sons, Kent King of Elm City and Gary King and wife, Debbie, of Elm City; and daughter, Laura Russ and husband, Jay, of Nashville; six grandchildren; Nashville; two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at First Christian Church, 1101 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount, with Rev. Michael McHarg and Dr. John Browning officiating. Burial followed the service at Pineview Cemetery.
