James Ashley Bennett, Jr., 95, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. He was born December 27, 1922 in Nash County to the late James Sr. and Jennie Locke Bennett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Bennett; daughter, Joyce Bennett; two grandsons, Bill and Cameron Bennett; two brothers, Harold and Raleigh Bennett.
He is survived by four sons, Bobby (Sue), Tony (Martha), James L. (Kathy) and Mark Bennett; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Nashville Rev. David Joyner and Rev. Alan Williams officiating. Burial followed at Bennett Family Cemetery.
