Evelyn Lucille Hill Colbert, age 90, of Rocky Mount, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. Born in Greene County on June 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Matthew Hill and Dora Mae Wade Hill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Colbert, Sr.; brothers, Earl Hill, Durwood Hill, and Elmer Hill; sisters, Dorothy Barnes and Zelma Rogers; and great-grandson, John Dornseif.

She is survived by her son, John Colbert, Jr. and wife, Sheila, of Rocky Mount; and daughters, Becky Joyner and husband, Bobby, of Rocky Mount, Jean Waters and husband, Tommy, of Rocky Mount, and Liz Joyner and husband, William, of Battleboro; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Allen Mills officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
