NASHVILLE - Sgt. Major Sidney Williams, 80, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Peggie W. Williams of the home; three daughters, Jennifer Williams and Cynthia Williams, both of Newport News, VA, and Renee Drake, of Nashville; four sons, Sidney Williams II, of Portsmouth VA, Roger Williams and Perry Williams, both of Newport News, VA, and Morial Whitaker, of Durham; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on May 17, 2008 from the Union Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas McCullers officiating. Burial followed in the Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetary in Newport News, VA.

Visitation was held from the Richardson Funeral Home in Nashville on May 16, 2008.
