Ann Whitaker Bishop, age 80, of Rocky Mount, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born in Nash County on December 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Robert Wiley Whitaker and Catherine O'Brien Whitaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Frederick Bishop, Jr.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Catherine Bishop (Michael Owen) of Columbus, IN, her son, Fred Bishop of Rocky Mount, and her daughter, Robbie Bennett (Dan) of Rocky Mount; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; her sister, Mary Mayo of Whitakers; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
