Steven Kenneth Coon, age 63, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018. Born in Providence, RI on March 2, 1955, he was the son of Donald O. Coon and Gloria Cabral Coon. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kate Gromlovits Coon; mother, Gloria Cabral Coon of Frederick, MD; daughters, Linnea Bethany Coon and Ashlee Taylor Coon; step-son, Matthew Simpson; step-daughters, Liza Simpson and Samantha Bodine; brother, Eric Coon and wife, Leslie; sister, Dona Batten and husband, Rob; four grandchildren; eight brother and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Father Greer officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
