BAILEY - Ivey Joyce Smith, 52, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 in Nash General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Monday evening, May 12 at 7 p.m. from Samaria Baptist Church by Rev. Butch Gordon and Rev. Jerry Kennett. Interment followed on Tuesday, May 13 at 11 a.m. at Samaria Baptist Church cemetary.

Survivors include husband, Allen Smith, of the home; three daughters, Christina Brown, of Wilson, Renee Oveysey, of Sims, and Melissa Fields, of Middlesex; two sons, Scott Warren, of Boca Raton, FL, and Brian Smith, of Middlesex; two sisters, Edna Lupton, of Goldsboro, and Julia Merritt, of Rolesville; brother, David Daniels, of Nashville, TN; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Mumford.

The family received friends following the funeral service and at other times at the home of Charlie and Melissa Fields, 9709 Nash St., Middlesex.
