Margaret “Peggy” Anderson Owens passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008. She was born August 29, 1919 in Tarboro. She was the daughter of the late Van-Buren and Mamie Strickland Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Lyman “Ed” Owens, Sr. of the home; one daughter, Gail Owens Hanlon of Greenville, NC; three sons, Lyman Edward Owens, Jr. and wife Earlleen of Grimesland, Ronald L. Cubitt and wife Glenda of Mobile, Ala., Terry A. Cubitt of Nashville; two sisters, Mamie Gray Newsome of Tarboro, Eleanor Silver of Garner; two brothers, V.B. Anderson of Tarboro, Earl Anderson of Tarboro; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

The family received friends from 11:00 to 1:00 pm Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Johnson Funerals and Cremations-English Road. A graveside service was held Thursday, May 8, 2008 2:00 pm at Mill Branch Cemetery.
