Whitney Nash Burnette, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Born in Edgecombe County on July 7, 1923, he was the son of the late Norman and Minnie Burnette. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Spain Burnette Ware; six brothers, Franklin, Elliot, Robert, Norman, Virgil and Turner Burnette; and step-son, Don W. Joyner, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Cornetious (Connie) Farmer Burnette of Rocky Mount, NC, sons, Michael N. Burnette (Barbi) of Raleigh, NC and David R. Burnette of Swarthmore, PA; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 26 nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 12:30 noon at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
