Robert Marshall Tyson, Sr., age 93, of Nashville, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018. Born in Nash County on December 10, 1924, he was the son of the late Charlie Richard and Mamie Layton Tyson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Nellie Wheeless Tyson; brothers, Wayne Tyson, Randolph Tyson, Hubert Tyson, Willie Tyson, Richard Tyson, J. W. Bowden, Lewis Bowden, Ernest Bowden, and Alvin Tyson; and sisters, Bessie Bowden, Mozelle Bowden, Louise Bowden, Johnnie Belle Bowden, and Rochelle Tyson.

He is survived by his son, Marshall Tyson and wife, Dianne, of Clayton; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Tim Andrews and Rev. Keith Griffin officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services and other times at the home of Alfred and Donna Tyson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle Cross Cowboy Church, 6015 Old Bailey Highway, Nashville, NC 27856, and Nash Healthcare System Hospice and Palliative Care, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
