George Lee Southerland, Jr., age 86, of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. Born in Wayne County on June 8, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Dora Southerland. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Southerland.

He is survived by his wife, Ettrice; sisters, Fonnie Skillman, Sue Kleim and husband, Ron, Annie Virginia Graham and husband, Cliff; children, Georgia Stickney and husband, David, Pam Barber and husband, Terry, Vickie Oakley and husband, Robert, George Lee Southerland III and wife, Lindsey; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, April 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Brandon Dees officiating. Burial followed the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
