Mary "Carolyn" Holmes Bass, 77, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born October 5, 1940 in Nash County to the late John Henry and Mary Roberson Holmes. In addition to her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by a son, James Frank Ezzell, Jr. and sister, Teresa Whitehead.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Bass; four daughters, Meta Evelyn Bohemier and husband Marc, Teresa Ann Ezzell, Dorothy Kay Ezzell and Mary Lynn Hamm and fiancé Waylon Hines; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the Chapel of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Burial followed at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
