Raymond "Cecil" Calhoun, age 88, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018. Born in Edgecombe County on April 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Kelly Louis Calhoun and Effie Bulluck Calhoun. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leon, Marvin, and Dempsey Calhoun; and sisters, Mae Stallings, Rubye Todd, Evelyn Griffin, and Ella Coats.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geraldine Calhoun; sons, C. Wayne Calhoun and wife, Debra, of Rocky Mount, and Steve Calhoun and wife, Beth, of Tarboro; and daughter, Vickie Calhoun Bain and husband, Billy, of Nashville; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Calhoun Shelton, of Tarboro; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
