Roderick Tunnell Morgan, 81 of Butner, NC, passed away on January 20, 2018. He was born on August 15, 1936, to the late Richard H. Morgan, Sr., and Eleanor Tunnell Morgan in Mannings Township, Spring Hope.

He is survived by his wife Joan Joyner Morgan of 62 years, his daughter Sandra Morgan Channa, son-in-law Mohan Channa; one grandchild; six siblings, Gene Morgan of Richmond, VA., Linda Lindskoog of Atlanta, GA., Carolyn Shearin (Mickey) of Rocky Mount, Elizabeth Matthews (Sammy) of Knightdale, Gerald Morgan of Louisburg, Derald Morgan of Louisburg, brother-in-law Robert Wayne Joyner (Juanita), sister-in-law, Judy Morgan and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Elmer Vann Morgan and Richard Harvey Morgan Jr, sisters Ruth Wernelle Morgan and Eleanor Brooks Morgan.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home conducted by Bishop Jimmy Price.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
